Children - Handle with Laughter

Updated: Jul 22, 2023

Decided to exercise this morning, did a mix of cardio and stretching.

It was good for my mood and body, as well as a solid reminder I have little kids. My three-year-old son joined me for the cardio. What he lacked in technique he made up for in energy and getting in my way.

My <1 year-old daughter, on the other hand, was more interested in joining me for the stretching routine. Or, to be more accurate, was more interesting in tugging on my pant leg and crawling over me while I was attempting to stretch. Toward the end, she decided it was time to flop on my face and not move. I had my knee bent and tucked up to my chest to stretch my legs but all I think I ended up doing was laughing. At first it was driving me nuts but I soon decided laughter was a better reaction. They are little kids, they wanted to hang out with their mom, and hey, if they learn a few good habits, like routine exercise and stretching in the meantime, all the better.

And hey, don't they always say laughter is the best medicine? Guess they are helping me out, too.
