"He Can't Be This Dumb" Graphic Novel Review

Updated: Jan 4

Title: He Can't Be This Dumb

Author: POP & navi

Genre: Romance, Coming-Of-Age, Contemporary

Graphic Novel

Rating: 4/5 stars

This graphic novel is about a young, poor girl who ends up attending a private High School for rich kids due to odd circumstances. She has to try to lay low and graduate, but things don't always go to plan!

This was a fun, easy read. The main theme was definitely romance. I easily connected with the main character and was rooting for her the whole time; she's honest and kind.

The book also made me laugh a few times, especially because of the male lead, which is always a plus. I also felt like the side characters were well-developed and had their own stories to tell.

The main downside to this story is the epilogue. It flashes ten years into the future and it feels like everything is the same, aside from them being out of high school. Everyone with the same people, no marriage, no kids? They don't look that much different either. The only progression is their careers.

Aside from that, there weren't alot of issues with the story. It's a light read, I would recommend as a good choice for a pick-me-up.

Clean Read?

Overall, this was a pretty clean read. It didn't have any Christian vibes to it, and there was premarital sex as well as living together before marriage. However, there wasn't much cussing, nudity, etc. There also wasn't any magic or gore.

Enjoy your next adventure!
