I really enjoyed reading this story. The female lead, Evie, was as loveable as her name. She was fun, well-rounded, high-spirited and just a great main character to follow through the story.
I also liked the many diverse characters that showed up through the story and the time the author took to develop all the characters. The story even had a few points that made you think about how each person is the main character in their own story.
I also liked the male lead in this story, and how he didn't like the whole setup of the women all petitioning to be his bride and put on display. I've never been a big fan of the idea of all these people (whether male or female) coming in and fighting for the love of one person while that person runs around and dates them all at the same time. In what scenario in real life are we okay when our significant other is like, 'Oh, I'm dating someone else... well actually 50 someone elses, hope you don't mind.' - Not okay! And I just enjoyed how this story sort of picked away at that idea, and the different characters came together and tried to fight back against injustices they saw throughout the story.
There were also elements in this story of how commoners should be treated the same as nobles, and the female lead was a strong woman who didn't take flack and stood up for herself. Overall, this was a fun, pleasant read with good themes and messages. Definitely recommend.
