"The Great Wish" Graphic Novel Review

Title: The Great Wish

Author: Narae & Skye

Genre: Fantasy, Mystery, Romance

Graphic Novel

Rating: 5/5 stars

This book is about a woman who was raised to be the emperor and begins to have dreams of a not-so-pleasant future. Alarmed, she decides to attempt changing what she's seen.

Warning: This book is addictive. I couldn't stop reading until I finished. I read it in two days, I couldn't help it!

The main character was really likeable and it was easy to enjoy her interactions with the love interest. Yet, the romance wasn't the only thing happening in the book. She set out to change things and didn't need someone else to fix everything for her, but yet relied on healthy relationships to help her through and to make changes. Not everything worked out perfectly either, which I appreciated.

Also, I enjoyed the relationships in the story, they were healthy, open, and eventually centered around mutual respect. I did think they rushed a little at the end. I'm not sure if it was decided it needed to finish in a certain number of episodes, or they just wanted to move on to the next project, but they seemed to fit a lot of material in, very quickly, toward the end. It still felt finished, at least, but I wish there could have been a little more material in the last few episodes. Overall, the rest of the story went at a smooth pace, though, and kept you guessing about what would happen next.

Clean Read?

Overall, it was pretty clean as it had limited cussing and sexually suggestive content. Though, from a Christian perspective, there are some serious Theology issues in terms of characters being divine beings that descended from gods, there are gods, and also holy trees. It didn't bother me much as I was reading, but the faith aspects are definitely fundamental to the story itself. There was also premarital sex, though there isn't nudity.

This is a recommend from me - Enjoy your next adventure!
