Title: The Knight and Her Emperor
Author: G.M, Team IYAK (winter, heyum)
Genre: Fantasy, Romance
Graphic Novel
Rating: 5/5 stars
This graphic novel is about a woman who had difficult circumstances thrown at her as a child. She gets placed into the military and a string of circumstances and determination helps her climb up the ranks.
I enjoyed that this story wasn't set on cliches, and that the protagonist didn't immediately become the best knight. It seemed realistic and reasonable, especially the way she increased in skill level. Her relationship with the emperor also progressed naturally.
There was a lot of romance in this story. My only complaint is sometimes it seemed to drag on longer than I would prefer. It was definitely a slow burn romance, and I'm not as into that as some. If you are, you'll enjoy this graphic novel. This is definitely an underdog story of someone who uses grit and determination to rise from the ashes.
Clean Read?
Some suggestive scenes with premarital sex (not explicit). Mild violence.
Question for my readers:
Do you enjoy stories with female knights?
Enjoy your next adventure!
